Steubenville Rehearsal Numuro Uno

I had my first rehearsal this week on Tuesday. Morgan, Kelly, Nick, Jonny and I all got together to read through the script. We did not start putting the show on its feet yet because I believe that the language of the piece is what is most important. I want my actors to be very familiar with all the words that they are saying.

I started out the meeting with just giving a brief synopsis about what happened in Stuebenville, Ohio. For any readers that do not know the story here is a link to the first article released about the crime.

After reading the piece everyone had a lot of questions about the piece and how we as a group are going to stage and preform it as there is no actual interactions between the actors in the show. I like that they asked me this and I hope that they are thinking about ideas as well. One of the main things I said to them was that this is going to be a group effort and I am open to any thoughts on the script, staging and anything they can think of.

My next rehearsal is tomorrow and I am really excited to start doing some warmups and getting the group to work together!

Adios
